McKenzie Adams (born February 13, 1992 in Schertz , Texas ) is an American volleyball player . The outside attacker played in the German Bundesliga for the ladies in Black Aachen and the SSC Palmberg Schwerin , with which she won the DVV Cup. In the 2020/21 season she is active in Italy with Imoco Volley Conegliano .
Career
Adams began playing volleyball at the age of eight, modeled on her sister, in Steele High School. At the beginning of her career, she was also active in basketball . In 2009 she received a scholarship to the University of Virginia . From 2011 she studied at the University of Texas at San Antonio , where she played on the Roadrunners team. In 2015, the attacker went to the Puerto Rican club Indias de Mayagüez . With Mayagüez she was runner-up in 2016, scoring the second most points. Then Adams was signed by the German Bundesliga club Ladies in Black Aachen . With the club she reached the quarter-finals in the Bundesliga playoffs and in the DVV Cup 2016/17 in the 2016/17 season . The following season she was captain of the team and reached the playoff semifinals with Aachen . She was Aachen's best scorer in the main round and took fourth place in the league in this ranking. She then moved to the German champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin . With Schwerin she won the VBL Supercup and the DVV Cup in the 2018/19 season . She also became German runner-up . In the DVV-Pokal 2019/20 she reached the semifinals with the club. When the Bundesliga season was canceled shortly before the playoffs, Schwerin was in first place in the table. In the 2020/21 season, Adams will play for the Italian first division club Imoco Volley Conegliano .
