VBL Supercup
The VBL Supercup is a volleyball competition of the German Volleyball Bundesliga (VBL). There are games between the reigning German champions and the DVV cup winners for men and women . If the DVV cup winner is also the German champion, the game takes place between the cup winner and the runner-up.
The Supercup was first held in 2016.
The cup comes from the Bremer Pokalschmiede Koch & Bergfeld Corpus. The Supercup trophy is 45 centimeters tall, has a diameter of 24 centimeters, weighs 3,650 grams and the names of the respective winners are engraved on the base with the year.
Supercup 2016
The first edition of the VBL Supercup took place on October 16, 2016. The venue was the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin . Since there was a double for both men and women in the 2015/16 season , the champions played against the runners-up. The women's game was played by Dresdner SC and Allianz MTV Stuttgart . For the men, the Berlin Recycling Volleys met VfB Friedrichshafen . The silver cup was presented at a press conference on October 4th in Berlin. Nicole Cross , Marquess and Tom Beck performed in the supporting musical program . With the number of visitors of only 5,600 spectators, including many sponsor cards, those responsible were not satisfied with the possible hall capacity of 10,000 visitors.

Supercup 2017
The second edition of the VBL Supercup took place on October 8, 2017 in the TUI Arena in Hanover . The women's game was played by champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin and cup winners Allianz MTV Stuttgart . In the men's category, the champion Berlin Recycling Volleys met the cup winner VfB Friedrichshafen . The organizers counted around 5,800 visitors.

Supercup 2018
The third edition of the VBL Supercup took place one week after the World Cup in Japan on October 28, 2018 again in the TUI Arena in Hanover . The women's game was played by champions SSC Palmberg Schwerin and cup winners Dresdner SC . In the men's category, the champion Berlin Recycling Volleys met the cup winner VfB Friedrichshafen . A total of 5,175 spectators attended the event.

Supercup 2019
The fourth comdirect Supercup took place on Sunday, October 20, 2019, but for the first time not as a season opener before the start of the Bundesliga season, but between the 2nd and 3rd matchday. The venue was once again the TUI Arena in Hanover . In the women's game, the champions Allianz MTV Stuttgart and cup winners SSC Palmberg Schwerin dueled . Meister Berlin Recycling Volleys met cup winner VfB Friedrichshafen for the fourth time in a row in the men's game . The number of spectators was only 4,535, which is why the VBL is considering choosing another venue.

Supercup 2020
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany , the fifth edition of the VBL Supercup will be split up: The women’s game will be played by the first in the table at the end of the season, SSC Palmberg Schwerin and cup winner Dresdner SC on September 27, 2020. In the men's category, United Volleys Frankfurt , second in the table , will face cup winner Berlin Recycling Volleys on October 11, 2020 . The venues have not yet been determined.
