Nicole Cross

Nicole Cross (* August 22, 1993 as Nicole Kandziora in Lauf an der Pegnitz ) is a German pop singer . In 2011 she took part in the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar . She became known mainly through YouTube , where she published cover versions of well-known songs.

Private life

Cross was born in Lauf an der Pegnitz and grew up there.

Even as a schoolgirl, her passion was music. After graduating from secondary school, she completed training as a medical assistant . However, she then decided to focus on the music.

She has a brother.

Career

Cross took part in the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar in 2011 and made it to the first live show. She became known to the wider crowd through her YouTube channel. Over the years it has reached over 950,000 subscribers (as of September 2018). One of Cross's biggest hits was her cover version of Rihanna's song Diamonds . Hollywood actor Ashton Kutcher became aware of Cross through a cover of the Adele song Hello in 2015 . He published a video on Facebook and has given her more reach. The video had over 8.5 million clicks by 2018.

In 2016, Cross worked for several months with international artists and producers, including Lena and Frans , and released her own debut single, Awesome .

In an interview with radio station Unserding , Cross revealed that she was in the charts in many countries without knowing exactly why. For example, she made it into the top 100 in Papua New Guinea , Taiwan and the Cayman Islands . In March 2018 Cross' first album Shapeshifter was released , which contains not only its own tracks but also cover songs. Cross receives support from Everever management .

In the German preliminary round in 2019 , she was among the top 20.
