Skip Marley

Skip Marley (born June 4, 1996 in Kingston , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican singer and songwriter . He gained fame mainly through his collaboration with Katy Perry on her song Chained to the Rhythm .

life and career

Marley was born on June 4, 1996 to Cedella Marley and David Minto in Kingston and grew up in Miami . He taught himself to play the piano , drums , guitar and bass .

In 2015 Marley released his first two singles Cry to Me and Life , which he released under the label Tuff Gong , which was founded by his grandfather Bob Marley . He then went on tour with his uncles Stephen Marley and Damian Marley .

In early 2017, Marley signed a record deal with Island Records and released his debut single Lions in February 2017. In the same month, the single Chained to the Rhythm by Katy Perry was released, in which Marley co-wrote the lyrics and sings a verse.
