Mikky Ekko
Mikky Ekko (born December 17, 1984 in Nashville ; actually John Stephen Sudduth ) is an American singer , songwriter and record producer . He became internationally known for the song Stay , which he sang with Rihanna .
Live and act
Mikky Ekko was born John Stephen Sudduth in Louisiana to a priest . In his youth, Ekko and his father traveled like nomads through Louisiana, Mississippi, and the rest of the Deep South . After settling in Music City Nashville , Tennessee , he played in several bands and established himself as a songwriter for other musicians, but soon began to work on his own songs. In 2009 he was part of the line-up of the Nashville-based musician collective Ten Out of Tenn.
His first release was the 2009 EP Strange Fruit , which was largely recorded a cappella . Further single releases followed in the same year. The hip-hop producer Clams Casino was won over by the song Who Are You, Really? attention to him. He then worked with Ekko on the 2012 single Pull Me Down , which was later remixed by Ryan Hemsworth . Ekko released two more singles in 2012: Feels Like the End and We Must Be Killers , which was used in the second season of the Teen Wolf television series .
Ekko had his greatest success so far as a guest musician with the song Stay by Rihanna , in which he sang a duet with her. The song is part of the 2012 Rihanna album Unapologetic .
For his debut album "TIME" Ekko worked with Clams Casino as well as many other well-known producers such as Paul Epworth , Justin Parker and David Sitek. It was released in September 2015.
Ekko is signed to RCA Records in New York City .
