The Meall a 'Bhuiridh is a 1,108 meter high mountain in the Scottish Highlands . The Gaelic name of the summit, classified as Munro , means something like mountain of the deer tube . or mountain of roar . It is located in the Highland Council Area . One of four Scottish ski areas with lifts is located on its northern slopes .

It is the highest point in the Black Mount mountain range , which extends roughly south-east on the western edge of Rannoch Moor north and west of Loch Tulla and east of Glen Etive . The Meall a 'Bhùiridh drops to the east and north with flat grassy slopes, on the other hand it drops more steeply to the south and west. In the summit area, the Meall a 'Bhùiridh is rocky and rises steeply. In the south-east lies the connecting saddle to the north-west neighboring and 1100 meter high Creise , separated by the deeply incised Cam Ghleann , which is also classified as Munro. Neighboring to the northwest is the Buachaille Etive Mòr , to which the Glen Coe, sloping to the west, connects.

On the northern slopes of the Meall a 'Bhùiridh is the Glencoe Mountain Resort , also known as the White Corries ski area . This ski area can be reached with a year-round chairlift . The valley station is at the foot of the mountain at the end of a short spur road on the A82 , about two kilometers south of the Kings House Hotel . The ski area was opened in 1956 as the first Scottish ski area to have lifts. In addition to the chair lift, the ski area includes several ski lifts on the northern slopes of the mountain. In summer the resort offers various trails for mountain biking .

As a rule, the ascent to the summit is from the valley or mountain station of the chairlift. The path leads parallel to the lift and from the mountain station first to the wide Bealach between the main summit and the pre-summit Creag Dhubh in the north . The ascent then takes place over the wide north ridge to the summit marked by a cairn . Most Munro excavators combine the ascent of Meall a 'Bhùiridh with the transition to the neighboring Creise.
