The Medisana GmbH is a former publicly traded company headquartered in Neuss . The core business of the stock corporation is the development, production and marketing of health products for end users. Since 2015 it has been majority owned by the Chinese Xiamen Comfort Science & Technology Group Co., Ltd., which operates under the name Easepal .
Corporate structure
The Medisana Group consists of the Group's parent company, Medisana GmbH, Neuss, and, as of December 31, 2011, nine subsidiaries and four sub-subsidiaries. Medisana AG has sales companies in China, the USA, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Great Britain and Russia. Medisana Space Technologies GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, works on the development of software and hardware for mobile products. The CEO of Medisana AG is Ralf Lindner. He forms the board together with Marco Getz, ShuMei Chen and YiCuan Wang.

The health control division develops and sells measuring devices for blood pressure, blood sugar, body temperature and weight. Therapy at home includes products for self-therapy from ultrasonic inhalation devices and products for allergy treatment, massage, pain therapy or electro-acupuncture to heating pads and massage seat covers.
At the medical trade fair MEDICA in November 2011, the company presented the two new product series VitaDock and iHealth , both health products for mobile use, to which smartphones or tablet PCs can be connected to display measurement results in apps .

criticism
On June 9, 2016, Bayerischer Rundfunk reported that a blood glucose meter produced by Medisana , which was sold by Aldi Süd in the spring of 2016 , showed excessively high blood sugar levels. This could, for example, lead to insulin-dependent diabetics suddenly falling into hypoglycaemia. Medisana had obtained an injunction against a scientific publication by the Institute for Diabetes Technology (IDT) at Ulm University on this topic . According to Medisana, insulin-dependent diabetics are not the target group for the device. In addition, the IDT study had formal errors. Studies initiated by Medisana would prove a standard-compliant system accuracy.
