The Meenzer Drecksack e. V. see themselves as an alternative Mainz carnival club . The most prominent member is the Green politician Günter Beck .

Profile and goal setting

Inspired by the Cologne stunks meeting , a group of interested parties around Günter Beck and Birgit Schütz decided to establish a carnival culture in Mainz as well, which was to be understood as an alternative to the undercurrent of the established carnival, which was then perceived as misogynistic and conservative. Both the established associations and politics at all levels should be cheekily and regardless of taboo breaking. The criteria for differentiating from established associations include the primacy of grassroots democratic decisions; the renouncement of a penalty advice and the fool's hall march ; the use of a garbage can as a lectern instead of a traditional buett ; the renunciation of the Helau call and the refusal of a fixed train number in the Rose Monday parade.

Idiosyncrasies the bastard

Instructions for use Meenzer Drecksäck.jpg

Instead of the “ Helau ” call taken over from Düsseldorf, “ Drecksäck Drecksäck hoi hoi hoi” is voiced by the audience at the meetings of Drecksäck eV. Particularly successful program numbers do not end with the traditional fool march, but with the audience call “Drecksau Drecksau komm komm komm”, whereupon a plush pig with a diameter of approximately 1 m is thrown into the audience and wanders through the hall on the hands of the audience. This hides an allusion to Pink Floyd , who photographed a helium-filled giant pig between the chimneys of a power plant as a cover photo for the album "Animals" and who also had a giant pig circling over the audience at concerts on this tour. Instead of the Elferrat or a meeting president, the founding members Beck and Schütz are responsible for guiding through the program, often with the help of short skits . The use of audiovisual media is an integral part of a bastard session; Each session begins with a film, usually an episode of the fictional "Becker family" with Beck and Schütz in the leading roles. In the traditional Rose Monday the scumbags would as recognized carnival club entitled to a fixed train number. This is denied; Instead, the members meet conspiratorially in order to "subversively infiltrate" the move at a suitable location. In contrast to this, in the 2020 campaign, however, the dirty bags were represented with their own car (train number 87.a).
