Antal Megyerdi (born December 5, 1939 in Budapest ; † March 10, 2013 ) was a Hungarian cyclist . He was a member of Tipografia Budapest and a printer by profession.

Athletic career

Megyerdi was a state amateur in the Hungarian Cycling Federation. He won the Tour of Slovakia in 1960 at the age of 20 , but was already part of the Hungarian national team for the International Peace Tour a year earlier . In this largest amateur stage race , the 1.69 m tall Megyerdi was 75th out of 92 rated participants on his debut. Until 1969, with the exception of 1967, he took part in all the peace races, his most successful of the ten tours was in 1966, when he finished eighth after winning a stage. In 1962 he was ninth in the amateur road racing championship in Italy and 47th in the single road driving at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo .

His most important national successes include the Hungarian national championship title in the mountain time trial in 1961 and the victory at the Mescek Cup in 1960.

In 1962 he started at the UCI Road World Championships and was classified 9th in the road race of the amateurs when Renato Bongioni won .
