course

The headwaters are approx. 1 km east of Hesedorf (Gyhum) , near the road to Abbendorf . Since the floodplain is the source of the Mehde, both are referred to as the Mehde floodplain. The Mehde-Aue is 19.76 km long and covers a catchment area of 97.91 km². The Mehde-Aue has several tributaries, the Abbendorfer Canal flows into the water near Hesedorf, the Buschhorstbach near Gyhum. The next tributaries are the Osenhorster Bach with the confluence between Gyhum and Wehldorf and the Rhalandsbach, which flows into Zeven. The Mehde-Aue is straightened up to Zeven and is classified as remote from nature. In Zeven it is built over within the city center, then flows through the city park and forest. From Zeven the further course can be seen as close to nature.

The Mehde-Aue flows into the Oste on the left 2 km north of Zeven near the town of Offensen.
