More alcohol is an EP by the Hamburg punk band Abwärts . The EP was released in 1988 by Normal Records in Indigo distribution in 12 ″ format and as a maxi CD . In addition, a 7 "single with the title track and the original album version of the piece alcohol appeared on the B-side.

History of origin

The single release alcohol - an interpretation of Charles Aznavour - Chansons You let yourself geh'n - from the self-titled Down album which was already the down unexpectedly debut single computer State an indie hit become. Inspired by this success, downward band founder and head Frank "Frank Z." Ziegert went back to the studio together with downward founding member FM Einheit , who meanwhile concentrated on his other band, Einstürzende Neubauten , to mix the song more commercially to produce. The two were supported in production by Blank Fontana . The result was sent to German radio stations on April 8, 1988 as a single-sided promo single. Although Ziegert did not intend to reform Abwärts as a real band at the time, he and FM Einheit put some musicians together at the beginning of 1988 and played four concerts from April 8 to 12, 1988 in preparation for the single new release. This was released in May 1988 under the title More Alcohol and also contained the original single version of Alcohol as well as some current live recordings on the B-side . The video was featured on the Formula One music show on May 28, 1988 .
