The Meidl Airport is an airfield in Hungarian Fertöszentmiklós , near the Austrian-Hungarian border. The airfield is around ten kilometers south of the Pamhagen border crossing and can be reached in around sixty minutes by car from the Austrian capital, Vienna .

“Meidl Airport” was founded in 1997 after a construction period of around two years by Franz Meidl, a Mattersburg freight forwarder and private pilot .

In addition to a 985 m long and 23 m wide asphalt runway , the airfield area consists of two spacious hangars , a gas station, an aircraft workshop and a restaurant.

On Meidl Airport many find air activities instead. The airfield is particularly well-known among gyrocopter pilots , who are represented in large numbers by the local flight school . Meidl Airport is also the home airfield of the Austrian skydiving club FSC Impact.
