The Meiereibach is a left tributary of the Mühlenau (Stegau) in the Heide-Itzehoer Geest in the Steinburg district , Schleswig-Holstein .

The stream rises northeast of the municipality of Schenefeld and then flows through the built-up area in a southwestern direction. The creek crosses Holstenstrasse under pipes for more than 100 m, then flows south over a field located within the built-up area and then again crosses under several residential properties for about 150 m. South of the road to the Birkengrund , the stream emerges again and then flows in the meadow lowlands to the southwest and finally to the south on the edge of the built-up area. In the southwest of the municipality, the stream curves to the west and finally flows into Mühlenau at the border with the municipality of Hadenfeld .

Due to the lack of retention areas, flooding by water from the Meiereibach often occurs after heavy rainfall. This problem is to be eliminated through renaturation measures . In April 2015, in the lower reaches between Schenefeld and the estuary, five bedfalls were converted into natural bed gliding and the water and its banks were made more natural.
