Meike Kruger

Meike Krüger (born April 13, 1971 in Herford , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German journalist , television presenter and author .

Shortly after graduating from high school, Meike Krüger started working as a freelancer for the local broadcaster Radio Herford . Later she also produced contributions for the WDR studio in Bielefeld . During her studies at the Ruhr University in Bochum , she worked for various radio stations as a freelance presenter and author, for example in Essen and Recklinghausen. In 1998, after a short internship at the Sat.1 regional studio in North Rhine-Westphalia, I did an internship. From the beginning she was in front of the camera as a presenter and reporter. She produced television programs for the programs 17:30 live from Dortmund, the Sat.1 Nachrichten and the boulevard program BLITZ , later she designed the regional program as head of duty.

Since 2003 she has been the face of the show euromaxx - Life and Culture in Europe , to be seen on DW and Einsfestival . She moderates alternately with Kristina Sterz . As a substitute she moderated several episodes of the travel show Gute Reise TV and Discover Germany , a cooperation between MDR and DW , in German and English. She worked as a writer for the RBB documentary Sub Berlin by director Tillmann Künzel. At the Portobello Film Festival in London in 2008 the film was named “best musical documentary”.

Meike Krüger also moderates various events, for example the film premieres of DW documentaries Monuments of the Classical period , or The Beethoven Project . Since 2008 she has moderated the public viewing with live broadcasts of the concerts from the Beethovenhalle as part of the Beethoven Festival in Bonn .

Meike Krüger lives with her family in Berlin and is the mother of two sons.
