history

Aerial view

Already in the first half of the 20th century there were jumping hills and jumps, which promoted the development of Meinerzhagen into an important ski jumping location. Today's Meinhardus-Schanze was built with the K 50 in 1957 and expanded to the K 60 in 1964, making it the largest plastic covered hill in the Federal Republic of Germany at that time. International competitions were then held regularly until new FIS standards made it necessary to demolish and rebuild. Since July 1982 the ski jump, now equipped with a steel inrun tower and plastic mattings, has been used by the Meinerzhagen ski club as well as the DSV and the Dutch national team.

After the renewal of the mat covering in 2002, when the facility was adapted to the FIS requirements, several Continental Cup competitions for women took place.
