Meinolf Zurhorst (* 1953 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German film journalist and producer as well as the author of numerous non-fiction books.

Life

Meinolf Zurhorst studied theater , film and television studies as well as art history , ethnology and philosophy . From 1977 he was a freelance writer for various newspapers and magazines and was also active in television. He specialized in film art and wrote several non-fiction books on film history , including the lexicon of crime films . In addition, between 1983 and 1997 he wrote numerous biographies on internationally popular film stars such as Robert De Niro , Jack Nicholson , Julia Roberts , Tom Hanks , Richard Gere , Gérard Depardieu , Lino Ventura , Robin Williams , Demi Moore and Mickey for the “ Heyne Filmbibliothek ” series of non-fiction books Rourke . As a film critic , he was also a regular contributor to the well-known Fischer Film Almanac . Zurhorst also worked as a film and video producer. Today he is the editor-in-chief of the “Feature Film III” department of ZDF and Arte .
