Door to the former brewery

history

The farm in Meinstorf was founded by the Counts of Bogen and was first mentioned in a document in 1280. For a longer period of time it had an important location on the Altweg to Bohemia, the later road to Viechtach and today's long-distance hiking trail Baierweg . Since the beginning of the 19th century there has been a brewery with an inn and a tensioning station . In 1802 the place still belonged to the parish of Windberg and had 20 souls; it came to the parish of Englmar with the rounding of 1830.

Forms of names and spellings

Spellings with "ai" were previously used, such as Maienstorf and Mainstorf , but also - possibly incorrectly - with the ending "dorf" instead of "torf" as Meinsdorf .
