Master of the Genoese Johannestafeln

With master of the Genoese John panels ( Italian Maestro delle Storie di San Giovanni Evangelista ) is a Flemish painter called, who in 1500 in Italy in the city of Genoa worked. The artist, who is not known by name, got his emergency name after the four pictures he created with scenes from the life of the Evangelist John .

Stylistically, the work of the master of the Genoese Johannestafeln is related to the work of Aelbert Bouts (* 1451; † 1549), to whom the Johannestafeln were initially assigned.
