Master of the Hallein Altar
As masters of the Hallein altar one is Gothic painter named. The medieval artist who worked in the Salzburg area got his emergency name from the small winged altar he created around 1440 , which was located in the chapel of the former leper house in Hallein . Today the work is in Salzburg in the Salzburg Museum . A few other works should also come from his hand.

The master of the Hallein Altar is an example of the transition from the Soft Style in painting in the region to work influenced by Dutch painters.
