Melanie Luck from Claparède

Melanie Luck von Claparède-Crola (* 1943 in Hanover ) is a German professor of art history and a book author .

She grew up in Germany , Namibia and South Africa . In 1963 she graduated from high school and studied art history, classical archeology and church history in Freiburg im Breisgau , Vienna , Paris and Basel . In 1969 she did her doctorate with Hermann Fillitz in Basel on secular wall painting of the 14th century between Zurich and Lake Constance .

On behalf of the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture , she is working on a framework guideline for grammar schools.

From 1982 to 1994 she was at the University of Applied Sciences Oldenburg Department of Architecture lecturer and then to 2010 honorary professor of architectural history and landscape gardening. Between 1994 and 2003 she was visiting professor at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, College of Architecture and Urban Studies in the USA.

Between 2004 and 2012 she was chairwoman of the Art and Culture Foundation of the City of Westerstede .

She has two daughters.
