Menai Bridge is a place on Anglesey in Wales with 3800 inhabitants (2001). The Welsh name of the place is Porthaethwy . With the construction of the Menai Bridge over the Menai Strait , the strait that separates Anglesey from mainland Welsh and which was completed in 1826, the place got its English name, so it has two different names today.

The islands of Church Island , Ynys Faelog and Ynys Gaint , which are in Menai Strait directly in front of the town, are directly connected to the town by dams that can be partially flooded at high tide.

Menai Bridge has a backdrop specially constructed for the Welsh soap Opera Rownd a Rownd , and the place itself and its schools also repeatedly serve as the backdrop for this production of the Welsh-language television channel S4C .

The Anglesey Coastal Path part of the Wales Coast Path runs through Menai Bridge. The Afon Cadnant joins the Menai Strait east of Menai Bridge.
