Stefan Otteni
Stefan Otteni (* 1966 near Karlsruhe ) is a German theater director and actor .
Life
Otteni was born in a village near Karlsruhe and after finishing school worked in theaters in London , including with Pierre Audi at the Almeida Theater . He then studied directing and acting at the Folkwang University , where he showed his first directorial work.
From 1991 to 1995 he worked as a director, actor and director at the Theater an der Ruhr in Mülheim an der Ruhr . In Cologne he founded the “Sommertheater” ensemble for the production of independent works.
Since 1996 Otteni has worked as a freelance director at established city and state theaters, including the State Theater Nuremberg , State Theater Karlsruhe , the German Theater Berlin , the Volksbühne Berlin , the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin , the Theater Bonn , the Hanover Theater , the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg , the Prinzregententheater in Munich , the Stadttheater Bern , the Staatstheater Nürnberg and a few others. He also works on freelance projects in drama and music theater . From 1999 to 2002 he directed the Kammerspiele of the Deutsches Theater Berlin alongside Martin Baucks .
As an actor, Stefan Otteni is involved in the independent group “Theater Operation”.
