Human rights award of the state of Styria

The Human Rights Prize of the State of Styria is a prize awarded by the Styrian state government , which has been awarded since 2001 after a resolution by the state government. The award, endowed with 7,500 euros, is usually presented by the governor , who also submits the application. The award recognizes activities for the implementation, development and promotion of human rights as well as achievements in this area at home and abroad . The prize is awarded by a jury of fifteen made up of figures from public life, politics, the courts, the university, Amnesty International and Caritas .

Organizationally, the honorary award is directly subordinate to the responsibility of the state office management.
