Merbotengrün
Merbotengrün is a desert between Meierhof , a district of the city of Münchberg , and the wasteland of Gollereinzel in the Upper Franconian district of Hof .
The name is interpreted as the green of the Merboto. In the literature, the place was also incorrectly called "Merbotenbrune", it is a transmission error.
The location of Merbotengrün is not known to all authors. Haberlah-Pohl describes the situation as unknown due to a lack of information, but the mention together with Laubersreuth provides a rough orientation. The location southeast of Meierhof is confirmed by reading finds by Erika Grüner and the evaluation of slag finds.
According to Karl Dietel , the first documentary mention of the place was in 1352 when the property of Albrecht Nothaft von Thierstein was sold to the Nuremberg burgraves Johann and Albrecht . Fiefs and rights in the Münchberger area, including in Merbotengrün, changed hands there.
