Meta Weber

Meta Weber (born December 27, 1895 in Strasbourg , German Empire , † after 1960) was a German opera singer with excursions to film from the war years.

Live and act

The daughter of the judiciary Franz Weber and his wife Pauline received singing and acting lessons from Hermann Gura . Then she went to Freiburg im Breisgau and performed at the local opera . Meta Weber remained based in Freiburg for many years, from where he also made guest tours and most recently also worked in Zurich . In 1929 she was a member of Hermann Gura's German guest performance opera. Your registration address at that time was Behrenstraße 50/52, which was also the address of today's Komische Oper Berlin (today Behrenstraße 55-57).

When later, due to her age, it was hardly possible for her to work at opera houses, the Alsatian found a second professional pillar in film during the war years from 1940 to 1943. There she played small to very small roles throughout, sometimes in famous films such as Friedemann Bach and Münchhausen .

After the war, Meta Weber hardly appeared in front of the camera; stage engagements can no longer be determined either. Her last known place of residence was Munich in 1961 .
