Metodi Shatorov
Metodi Tassew Schatorow ( Bulgarian Методи Тасев Шаторов ; born January 10, 1898 in Prilep , † September 4, 1944 in the Rhodope Mountains ) was a Bulgarian politician.
Life
Shatorov was one of the founders of the United Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization in 1925 . He was also a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party . From 1926 to 1929 and from 1942 to 1944 he was a member of the central committee of his party. Shatorov went to the Soviet Union in 1929 , where he lived until 1934 and worked for the foreign office of the Bulgarian Communist Party. From 1937 to 1939 he fought in the Spanish Civil War . In 1941 he returned to Bulgaria and from 1943 was commander of the Third Insurgent Operating Zone of the Bulgarian People's Liberation Army.
He was killed in combat with police units in the Rhodope Mountains in 1943.
