Metodi Stratiew

Metodi Stratiew AA ( Bulgarian Методий Стратиев ; born January 11, 1916 in Srem ; † May 12, 2006 in Sofia ) was Apostolic Exarch of Sofia .

Life

Metodi Stratiew joined the order of Assumptionists and on July 26, 1942 received the ordination. John XXIII appointed him on April 28, 1963 Apostolic Exarch of Sofia and Titular Bishop of Diocletianopolis in Thracia .

He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Exarch of Sofia, Kyrill Kurtew , on September 5, 1965; Co- consecrator was Simeon Kokov OFMCap , Apostolic Administrator of Sofia and Plovdiv .

After the death of Kyrill Kurtev, he succeeded him on March 9, 1971 as Apostolic Exarch of Sofia. The Pope raised him on 18 December 1993 Titular Archbishop of Diocletianopolis in Thracia . John Paul II accepted his retirement on September 5, 1995.
