Christo Projkow ( Bulgarian Христо Пройков ; born March 11, 1946 in Sofia , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian clergyman and bishop of the eparchy of St. John XXIII. in Sofia the Bulgarian Catholic Church .

Life

The ordination to the Bulgarian Catholic priests received Projkow on May 23, 1971 in Sofia. Projkov was appointed coadjutor in the Apostolic Exarchate of Sofia on December 18, 1993. At the same time he was appointed titular bishop of Briula . He was ordained bishop on June 6, 1994 in Sofia by Pope John Paul II ; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re and Archbishop Josip Uhač , Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples . Since September 5, 1995, Christo Projkow has been Bishop of the Greek Catholic Exarchate of Sofia.

On May 15, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI called him . as Consultor of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches . Christo Proikov was elected First Bishop of the Eparchy of St. John XXIII on October 11, 2019 as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Exarchate of Sofia to the Eparchy . in Sofia.
