Metroeconomica is a scientific journal with peer review process used by John Wiley & Sons published. It appears four times a year. history

Metroeconomica was founded in 1949 by Eraldo Fossati after a meeting of the Econometric Society in The Hague . Initially, an annual edition was published by Licinio Cappelli in Bologna . The first editorial appeared in English, French and Italian. From 1992 the magazine was published by Blackwell in Oxford, now three times a year. It has been published by John Wiley & Sons since 1997, and has been published four times a year since 2000.

In 2018, the impact factor is given as 0.475. A study by the French economists Pierre-Phillippe Combes and Laurent Linnemer ranked the journal with a C in the fifth of six categories, ranking 264th out of 600 economic journals. In the ranking of the Handelsblatt in 2013 and 2015, the magazine was in the second lowest category.
