Dickson Dee

Dickson Dee ( Li Chin Sung , DJ Dee ; born January 12, 1969 ) is a Chinese sound artist , DJ, turntablist, composer and music producer .

Dickson Dee came to Hong Kong as a child, where he worked as a producer, composer and music blogger. With Henry Kwok he founded the Sound Factory in 1989 , which was dedicated to the import and export of productions by international experimental and independent labels. In 1997 he founded the Noise Asia label (with Noise Asia Records , Noise Asia Publishing , Sound Factory Production , Dicksonia Audio and Altmusic Association ). He has produced albums by Otomo Yoshihide , Zbigniew Karkowski , the Ruins , Haino Keiji and Yoshida Tatsuya, among others . As a concert organizer he brought musicians like John Zorn and his band Masada , Ikue Mori , Mike Pattan , the Otomo Yoshihide New Jazz Ensemble , Jon Rose , Gudrun Gut , Acid Mothers Temple , Chino Shuichi , Bertrand Denzler , Jean-Luc Guionnet , Taku Unami , Mattin , the group The Orb , Uri Caine and Yoshihiro Hanno to China.

As an experimental musician of electronic music, he has appeared in numerous live shows in China, Japan, Germany, Austria and Poland and has worked with musicians such as Thomas Fehlmann , Zbigniew Karkowski , Otomo Yoshihide , Sainkho Namtchylak , Maja Ratkje , Sachiko M , Werner Dafeldecker , Patrick Pulsinger , Zhang Chu , Wang Fan , Tujiko Noriko , Electronicat , Tetsuo Furadate , Yoshida Tatsuya , Keiji Haino , Adichi Tomomi , Sainkho Namtchylak and Lawrence English . His discography includes about thirty albums.
