Metzdorf is a village that belongs to the municipality of Bliesdorf in the Märkisch-Oderland district.
Geographical location
The village is six kilometers south of Wriezen and three kilometers south of Bliesdorf. The B 167 passes directly by the place . The old town forms a cul-de-sac with a village green from the B 167.
history
People lived in the area of today's Metzdorf as early as the Early Iron Age, so urn graves from the 4th / 5th century BC were found. The current village was founded in the Middle Ages, mentioned the place as Mertenstorp the first time in 1300. In the Middle Ages the place to possession of part Cistercian - monastery Friedland . The village was substantially destroyed in the Thirty Years War . Friedrich II gave the area of the Friedland office to the Lestwitz family, so Metzdorf also came into the family's possession. In 1818 the farmers bought their land.
In 1953 a Type I LPG and a Type III LPG in 1957 were founded.
Architectural monuments
Two monuments are listed in Metzdorf.
- The village school, Metzdorf 25: the village school is located in the middle of the village on the Anger. The previous building was demolished in 1894 and the current building was built in the same place. It was inaugurated on October 7, 1894. Next to a classroom was a teacher's apartment in the house. The house is a brick building with a gable roof, which was covered with slate.
- The Metzdorf 27 farm complex: The house and a stable of the three-sided farm have been preserved. The house was built in 1795. It is a gable-independent house with a gable roof. The stable was built in 1895. It was used as accommodation for horses and cattle.
