Metzingen has been part of the municipality of Göhrde in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony since 1972 and is the seat of the municipality.

The place is four kilometers southeast of Göhrde on the B 216 .

history

The two large stone graves were located in the former municipality area near Metzingen .

For the year 1848 it is stated that Metzingen had twelve residential buildings in which 71 residents lived. At the time the place was parish to Hitzacker and the school was in Bredenbock . On December 1, 1910, Metzingen had 107 inhabitants as an independent municipality in the Dannenberg district . On July 1, 1972, the place was incorporated into Göhrde.
