Schmardau is a district of the municipality of Göhrde in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .

The place is six kilometers southeast of Göhrde.

history

For the year 1848 it is stated that Schmardau had six residential buildings in which 46 residents lived. At the time the place was parish to Hitzacker , the school was in Bredenbock . On December 1, 1910, Schmardau had 38 residents as an independent municipality in the Dannenberg district . On July 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the municipality of Metzingen, which was renamed the municipality of Göhrde on January 29, 1976.
