Mia Nicole Eklund (born October 30, 1994 in Tallinn , Estonia ) is a former Finnish tennis player .

Career

Eklund began playing tennis at the age of six and preferred hard courts. She mainly plays tournaments on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has so far won one title in singles and four in doubles.

She made her debut in the Finnish Fed Cup team in 2016 , where she has won 13 out of 21 games so far, including seven singles and six doubles.

In 2017 and 2018 she played in the German tennis Bundesliga for Marienburger SC in the 2nd division .

Eklund had to end her professional career in 2019 at the age of 24 for lack of money. There were no more sponsors and no support from the Finnish association. It has not been in the world rankings since November 2019.
