Michaël Chrétien Basser (born July 10, 1984 in Nancy ) is a French - Moroccan football player and was most recently active as a right defender in the French second division for AS Nancy as well as in the Moroccan national team .

Career

Chrétien joined AS Nancy in 1989 at the age of five . From 2000 to 2002 he trained at the Center fédéral de Préformation de Madine in Heudicourt-sous-les-Côtes ( Département Meuse ) and then returned - despite offers from the first division clubs FC Metz and AJ Auxerre - to Nancy to the then second division team. In November 2002 he made his league debut in Ligue 2 and rose with the club in 2005 in the top French division . In 2006 he won the French League Cup . On September 5, 2011, Bursaspor announced the signing of the defender. In January 2015 he moved to Racing Strasbourg , where he got a contract until summer.

Chrétien played for French youth teams and was called up to the Moroccan national team in February 2007 . He played his first international match against Gabon on November 16, 2006 and was in the squad for the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana.
