Michael Brinkley (born October 15, 1992 in Huntington Beach ) is an American volleyball player .

Career

Brinkley was introduced to baseball and soccer by his father before he discovered his interest in volleyball while camping on the beach. He began his career at Edison High School and also played at the Balboa Bay Volleyball Club. From 2012 to 2015 he studied sociology at UC Irvine . There the Libero was active in the university team. In 2013 he played with the USA national team at the Pan American Cup and a year later he won the silver medal in this competition. In 2015 he took part in the Pan American Games in Toronto with the US team . In 2016 he was in the squad for the world league . In the same year he was signed by the German Bundesliga club SVG Lüneburg . With the club he reached the quarter-finals of the DVV Cup and the Bundesliga playoffs in the 2016/17 season . Then he left Lüneburg.
