Michael David Enfield (born July 19, 1983 in Ventura , California ) is an American football player .
Career
Enfield was one of the best players of his class during high school and came to a total of 13 appearances for the US U-18 national team. He then played between 2001 and 2004 in college soccer for the UCLA Bruins . In 2002 he won the college championship with the team, and in 2004, his senior year of college, he was elected to the NCAA First Team All-American . In total, he came to 78 missions during his four seasons at college, scoring 16 goals.
In the MLS SuperDraft 2005 he was selected in the 2nd round in a total of 15th place by Los Angeles Galaxy . In his debut season in Major League Soccer , Enfield made six appearances, twice in the starting XI. In the play-off phase, in which his team ultimately won the championship through a 1-0 win over New England Revolution , he was not used. Even when he won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup , Enfield was not used. After five more missions in the 2006 season , he was waxed at the end of the season.
In March 2007 he auditioned for Sydney FC in Australia and was finally given a two-year contract. Shortly after the start of the season, he suffered a serious knee injury in training and was out for the rest of the season, due to cartilage damage discovered in June 2008, he was also absent from the season opener of the 2008/09 season and his contract was no longer extended after the season.
In the summer of 2005 he took part with a US selection in the Maccabiade football tournament and won the silver medal.
