Michael Gerard Bauer
Michael Gerard Bauer (born August 10, 1955 in Brisbane ) is an Australian writer.
Life
Bauer attended Marist College in Ashgrove and then studied at the University of Queensland .
In 2000, he cut hours from his full post as an English and business teacher in order to pursue his dream of becoming a writer. This has been awarded numerous prizes, including “Book of the year” from the Children's Book Council of Australia. His next book Don't call me Ishmael! also became an international bestseller, so that in 2007 he wrote a sequel under the title Ishmael and the Manatee Appearance and finally completed his Ishmael series in 2011 with Ishmael-Ready is everything . These and other titles by him have so far (as of 2018) been sold in 42 countries and translated into 12 languages.
Michael Gerard Bauer is married and has one son. He now lives as a "full-time" writer on the outskirts of Brisbane.
