Michael Hört

Michael Hört (born January 14, 1958 in Koblenz ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school in 1977, he studied Catholic theology and German in Bonn and Mainz. From 1986 to 1996 he worked as a teacher at a vocational school in Koblenz. Since 1998 he has been chairman of the German War Graves Commission in Rhineland-Palatinate . Michael Hörter, son of former Mayor Koblenz and CDU faction chairman in parliament Mainz Willi Hörter is married and has one child.

Hört joined the CDU in 1978. In 1989 he became a member of the city council of Koblenz and was chairman of the council group from 1994 to 2007. From 1996 to 2011 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament , in which he was the domestic political spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group. In the election to the mayor of Koblenz on May 26, 2002, Hörter lost to the previous incumbent Eberhard Schulte-Wissermann (SPD).
