Michael Haubtmann

Michael Haubtmann (born April 9, 1843 in Prague , † October 14, 1921 in Munich ) was a German landscape painter .

Life

Haubtmann attended grammar school in Prague's New Town as a pupil and, after graduating from high school , studied law at Charles University in Prague from 1861 , where he was active at Corps Austria . In addition, he was Max Haushofer's pupil from 1861 to 1865 . After graduating as Dr. iur. In 1867 he worked briefly in law, but gave up in 1869 and moved to Munich before 1875. There he was initially a student of Julius Lange . Haubtmann traveled to Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Egypt and Norway and worked as a landscape painter.

The motifs of his landscape and architectural pictures often came from Italy or Greece, including:
