Michael Huke

Michael Huke (born March 30, 1969 in Sondershausen ) is a former German athlete who was successful in the sprint .

He was third in the 100-meter run at the GDR championships in 1989 and won the German championship over 200 meters in 1991 and 1994 . He also won the championship title and several runners-up championships over 100 meters with the 4 x 100 meter relay of TV Wattenscheid in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995 and 1996 .

Huke represented Germany at the World Indoor Championships in 1991 , the European Indoor Championships in 1992 , the World Championships in 1993 , the European Championships in 1994 the European Indoor Championships in 1994 , the 1995 World Championships , the 1996 Olympics and the 1999 World Championships . His greatest successes were reaching the finals at the 1993 home world championships in Stuttgart and the 1994 European championships in Helsinki, where he was sixth with the German 4 x 100 meter relay.

Michael Huke started for SG Dynamo Sondershausen, SC Turbine Erfurt and from 1991 TV Wattenscheid 01. The trained industrial clerk remained loyal to the sport even after his competitive sports career. At the athletics meeting in Sondershausen he was responsible for the sporting area and in 2002 he became sports warden and in 2009 competitive sports coordinator at TV Wattenscheid.
