Michael Imhof (art historian)

Michael Imhof (born June 18, 1964 in Fulda ) is a German art historian and publisher .

Life

After graduating from the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium in Fulda, Michael Imhof studied art history, monument preservation and folklore at the University of Bamberg and received his doctorate in 1996 on the subject of “historic half-timbering”. Imhof published several essays and books on art history and folklore topics and carried out building studies and inventory of houses.

In September 1996 he founded Michael Imhof Verlag , based in Petersberg (Hesse) .
