Michael J. Lambert

Michael J. Lambert (born July 17, 1944 ) is an American psychotherapy researcher and psychotherapist and past president of the Society for Psychotherapy Research . He is a professor of psychology at Brigham Young University in Provo , Utah . His research focus is psychotherapy outcome research , especially the effect of feedback on the course of psychotherapy treatment . With the help of the Outcome Questionnaire (OQ-45, OQ-45.2) he developed (German results questionnaire , EB-45), a. Problematic therapy progress (e.g. worsening of symptoms, suicidality ) is reported back to the therapist. He and his working group also research the effects of feedback on patients.

Since 2004 he has been editor of the Handbook of Psychotherapy and Behavior Change , a standard work in psychotherapy research.
