Jakub Nakládal (born December 30, 1987 in Hradec Králové , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Pardubice from the Czech Extraliga since June 2020 and plays there in the position of defender .

Career

Jakub Nakládal began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC VCES Hradec Králové . From there he moved to BK Mladá Boleslav , for whose U18 juniors he was active in the 2001/02 season in the country's second highest division of this age group. Then the defender joined the youth division of HC Pardubice , for whose professional team he made his debut in the Czech extra league in the 2006/07 season . In the following years he was able to earn a regular place in the professional squad of HC Pardubice and won the Czech championship title with the team in the 2009/10 season . He himself was voted the best defender in the Extraliga this season and had the best plus / minus balance of all players in the playoffs .

After he had also started the 2011/12 season at HC Pardubice in the Extraliga as well as in the preparation for the season in the European Trophy , Nakládal was committed to Salawat Julajew Ufa from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) for the rest of the season at the end of October 2011 . He then played 38 KHL games for Ufa before moving to HK Spartak Moscow in May 2012 within the league . Shortly before the end of 2012 he left Spartak and was signed by HC Lev Prague , with whom he reached the KHL playoff final in 2014.

After spending the 2014/15 season at TPS Turku in Finland and then participating in the 2015 Home World Cup , the Calgary Flames from the National Hockey League signed him in May 2015 . His one-year contract there was not renewed after its expiration, so that from then on he was looking for a new employer, which he found in the Carolina Hurricanes in October 2016 . After three NHL missions, the Hurricanes dissolved the Czech's contract in November 2016, whereupon Nakládal joined Lokomotive Yaroslavl from the KHL a little later .

The Czech spent a total of four seasons with the Russian club until summer 2020 before returning to his home in the Czech Republic for HC Pardubice.

International

Nakládal played for his home country at the 2012 , 2013 and 2015 World Championships . The third place in 2012 combined with winning the bronze medal was the best placement. He also represented his home country at the World Cup of Hockey 2016 in September 2016 .
