Michael Jahn

Michael Jahn (born February 21, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian musicologist .

Life

Jahn received his doctorate in 1992 under Leopold M. Kantner at the University of Vienna . From 1990 to 1992 he worked for the Austrian regional management of the RISM , from 1992 to 2003 for the Austrian National Library . From 1995 to 2003 he was the country director of the RISM in Austria, in 2003 he founded the association RISM Austria and became its scientific director. The association has been called the Vienna Opera Archive since 2012 . Jahn is partly editor and partly author of the publications of RISM-Austria and of the writings from the Vienna Opera Archive , his research focus is the history of Vienna opera.
