Michael Jakobs (born July 18, 1959 in Oberhausen ) is a former German soccer player . His position was left defender.

career

Jakobs began his career in the senior division in the then third-class association league Niederrhein , where he was used for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . From 1978 he played for two years in the 2nd Bundesliga for SG Wattenscheid 09 before he moved to VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga . The trained pre-stopper then played for FC Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC . Michael Jakobs played a total of 196 first division and 167 second division games and scored 18 goals. In the 1990/91 season he had to end his career as a sports disabled person in Berlin and subsequently opened an outpatient rehabilitation center in Berlin with his teammate Wolfgang Patzke .

He is the brother of Ditmar Jakobs .
