Michael Klapp

Michael Klapp (* 1834 in Prague , Austrian Empire ; † February 25, 1888 in Vienna ) was an Austrian journalist , writer and playwright .

Life

From 1855 he lived in Vienna , worked all his life in journalism, edited several publications and was a correspondent for Viennese newspapers in Italy and Spain . In 1878 his best piece "Rosenkranz und Güldenstern" was published, which was originally performed in the Vienna City Theater without an author's name and then toured all the stages in Germany. Klapp's other dramatic works are Der Glückshafen, Fräulein Kommerzienrat, Die Komödie Sr. Highness. Klapp also published the books Comical Stories from Jewish People's Life (1859) and others.

He was a co-author of the Sippurim collection of legends in Prague .
