Tommi Juhani Siirilä (born August 5, 1993 in Alajärvi ) is a Finnish volleyball player .

Career

Siirilä initially wanted to play baseball like his father , but chose volleyball in high school. He was trained from 2008 to 2011 with the youth team in Kuortane . In the 2011/12 season he played for Kokkolan Tiikerit. In 2012, he took part in the European Championship with the Finnish Juniors. With the senior national team , he took part in the volleyball world league in 2012 and in the following years . From 2012 to 2014 the middle blocker was active at Pielaveden Sampo. In 2013 he was in the cup final. In 2014 he finished ninth with Finland at the World Cup in Poland . Then he returned to Kokkola. With the club he won the cup and championship double twice. After another World League participation, Siirilä moved to the French club GFC Ajaccio in 2016 . With Ajaccio he won the cup and was third in the league. In the 2017/18 season he won the double in Italy with Sir Safety Perugia and was third in the Champions League . At the 2018 World Cup he entered the second group stage with Finland. The following season he played again in the domestic league with Valepa Sastamala and won the double. In 2019 he was signed by the German-Austrian Bundesliga club Hypo Tirol Alpenvolleys Haching .
