Michael Krummenacher

Michael Krummenacher (born July 9, 1985 in Schwyz ) is a Swiss film director and screenwriter .

life and career

Michael Krummenacher grew up in Schwyz. The first short films were made during high school. After graduating from high school, he attended the Filmmaking Intensive Workshop at Columbia University in New York City in 2005 , before beginning his studies in directing for cinema and television film at the HFF Munich in 2006 . He graduated with a diploma in 2014.

In 2009 he founded together with Peter Baranowski the passers-film production , which has since been responsible showed up for the production of several short and feature films. Including Krummenacher's first feature film Behind These Mountains , which was made while studying and celebrated its international premiere in 2010 at the International Film Festival Rotterdam . In 2012 his short film Wenn alle da sind are nominated for the German Short Film Award.

Sibylle (Like A Cast Shadow) celebrated its world premiere at the 2015 Berlinale . In the same year Heimatland was completed. The omnibus film by ten young Swiss directors wasinitiatedby Michael Krummenacher and Jan Gassmann and made under their artistic direction. Heimatland celebrated its world premiere in 2015 in the International Competition of the Festival del film Locarno and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize in the category of best feature film in2016.
