Michael Lerjéus (* 18th June 1973 ) is a Swedish football - referee .

Career

Originally from Skövde , Lerjéus made his debut at association level in 1996 as a referee. As a result, he rose and came in 2002 for his first use in the second-rate Superettan . After he proved himself here, he moved up to the pool of referees for the Allsvenskan before the 2006 premier league season .

In 2009 Lerjéus rose to the position of FIFA referee as the successor to Peter Fröjdfeldt , who had retired for reasons of age . In the same year he made his first international appearance as a referee at junior tournaments when he led games at both the U-19 and U-21 European Championships in 2009 . He was also used in the Europa League .
